How did Reece and Austin meet?
“We met at the Indiana Dunes Great Banquet. It is a nondenominational christian weekend, we were both serving a meal and became friends shortly after that. Friends later turned into a relationship! Fun fact we actually went through the same weekend for teens together, but never met and then 5 years later we were connected!”
How did Austin propose to Reece?
“During a summer photoshoot that we were doing!”
Was Reece surprised or did she see it coming?
“A mixture of both. I had a little suspicion since he asked if my nails were going to be done, which he never cares about, so it definitely made me curious but i didn’t know for sure”
It was finally time to find the dress!
“It was absolutely amazing! I went to one place before Something Blue and didn’t fall in love with anything. Coming to Something Blue was such a comfortable and confidence boosting experience. The first dress I tried on became the one!”
How did Reece know her dress was "the one"?
“I honestly didn’t know when i first put it on. It was my first dress to try on at something blue and i knew i needed to try on more before making a decision. There was one dress i thought was going to be the one but when i put it on i didn’t get the same feeling that i did in the first one. My mom also cried when I tried it on again. Seeing it in the veil really made me realize that this dress is my dress. It was the one.”
What was Reece’s favorite part of the planning process?
“I honestly didn’t love we’d planning. Very Type B girl so trying to organize everything was so stressful, but dress shopping was the my absolute favorite! having all my favorite girls there with me. it was the moment i fully realized i was going to be a bride and marry my best friend. I also grew up watching say yes to the dress with my mom so getting to experience that with her was a memory I’ll cherish forever.”
What was Reece’s least favorite part?
“My least favorite part was hearing everyone’s opinions about our day. It just added a lot more stress to our already hectic plates. But it definitely taught me which opinions mattered and which ones didn’t.”
What was Reece’s favorite moment of her wedding?
“My favorite moment was getting to take our wedding photos. Once we got all of the group ones out of the way it was just my husband, photographer and me. So it was so special to have those little moments with each other and no one else around.”
What is the best piece of advice you can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?
“My best advice is it is your day. You will probably hear that a million times, but at the end of the day it is truly whatever you and your husband want. No one else’s opinions matter! Also have a wedding planner or a friend in charge of helping the day go by smoothly! My best friend’s mom was mine and we honestly couldn’t have done the day without her!”
Congratulations, Reece and Austin!
