How did you Jordyn & Colton meet?
“Colton and I met when we started working together. We became friends while working together and when I got a new job, he finally made a move when he knew I was leaving.”
How did Colton propose to Jordyn?
“Colton proposed to me while we were camping with my mom and dad. We went for a drive to go by the lake for some cute sunset pictures and when we walked out on the pier for a picture he got down on one knee to propose!”
Was Jordyn surprised or did she see it coming?
“I had given up that he was going to propose because I felt like I was waiting forever lol. But I had no idea he was doing it 4th of July weekend. I got a couple of hints from my step son who was 7 at the time. He kept telling me he had a secret that he couldn’t tell me.”
It was then time for Jordyn to find her dress!
“Getting my dress was such a fun experience! I got nervous because I really loved a lot of the dresses I tried on. I brought my mom, mother in law, sisters, and my best friend. They were a huge help in making sure I picked something that made me happy and not something that I thought others would like. Emily at something blue made me feel so pretty in every one that I tried on and got so much compliments! The whole process wasn’t overwhelming just fun and I found the “one” on my first visit!”
How did Jordyn know her dress was "the one"?
“I knew my dress was the one as soon as I put it on. I smiled very big and everyone said they knew I loved it. It was the perfect combination of elegant and sexy. And every detail that I would request on the other dresses was on this one. I tried on my other top contenders and came back to “the one”. Once the veil went on I cried and I knew it was the one!”
What was Jordyns Favorite part of the planning process?
“Planning was stressful! But I will say finding our venue and my dress were my favorite parts! When Colton and I went to The Shed we knew immediately it was what we were looking for. That was the first thing we did for our wedding and it was just exciting knowing what was to come. Getting my dress was my other favorite part because it really made me feel like a bride and I was so excited for Colton to see it. All us girls went out to lunch after shopping and it was just a special day, we were all very excited!”
What was Jordyns least favorite part of the planning process?
“My least favorite part of planning was the WAIT and the headcount. Waiting felt like forever and so much of our time was towards planning and I was so ready for our day to be here. The headcount was stressful because we had a hard time not inviting everyone lol and I’m normally a very organized person but this was the only thing that felt like it was all over the place!”
What was Jordyns favorite moment from the wedding?
“My absolute favorite moment of my wedding was saying our vows at the ceremony. We chose to write our own and say them in front of everyone at the ceremony. Super nerve racking but so grateful we did it. Hearing my husband’s vows was so special and a great way to show our love in front of everyone we loved and cherished.”
What is the best piece of advice you can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?
“My best piece of advice to give brides-to-be who are currently planning is to have someone assigned to handling any questions or problems day of. If something goes wrong let someone else handle it so you can enjoy your day. And for advice on stressful wedding planning - ACCEPT HELP. It is a lot for you and your partner to make decisions and have so many opinions on how to do things. Any help you can get is just a big relief.”
