How did the newlyweds meet?
“We met in highschool, we went to different highschools but still say highschool sweethearts.”
How did Colin proposed to Erin?
“We went out to dinner, and for a walk out on the Michigan City beach walk. We ended up going behind the lighthouse, out on the rocks where he proposed.”
Did Colin surprise Erin or did she know it was coming?
“We were together for 9 years, it had to be coming eventually, but you could say I gave him an ultimatum.”
How was Erin’s dress shopping experience?
“Leading up to the appointment, I had some ideas of what I liked but I didn't have anything specific in mind. I'm not sure if that was going to be easier or harder. Trying on all of the dresses was fun, Izzy did an amazing job. Out of all the dresses I tried on, I would say the things that I liked or didn't like, and she would go pull a dress using that information. I ended up with a dress she had pulled based on what I liked and didn't like.”
How did Erin know her dress was "the one"?
After trying on many dresses, there's a lot of things you are looking for. It helps having a great support family/ friend with you. Ones who will tell you the truth when you maybe don't want to hear it. But also making sure if there is something specific you want to not let them talk you out of it. Putting on THE dress makes you feel confident. You feel comfortable enough to dance, hug, sit, literally be in it ALL day.
What was Erin’s favorite part of the planning process and why?
“My favorite part of the planning process was envisioning exactly what I wanted and being able to make it come to life and having the most special day for you and your new partner.”
What was her least favorite part and why?
“For me, my least favorite part was the seating arrangements. Trying to figure out who can't sit next to someone is something only a big crazy family can understand.”
What was Erin favorite moment of their big day?
“My favorite moment of our wedding was having all of our loved ones there to help celebrate. To us family means everything and having them there was so very special.”
What is the best piece of advice you can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?
“It’s okay to not do the “traditional” norms of a wedding. This day is for you and your partner. If there is something you want to do that's out of the “norm” of a wedding… DO IT, it's your day and you and your partner have the final say.”
Congratulations, Erin and Colin!
