How did the newlywed meet?
“Max and I were both teachers within Portage Township Schools and both coached at Fegley Middle School. We met during the Fall 2023 coaching season and school year!”
How did Max propose? Was Kimmie surprised?
“I was proposed to on February 27, 2025. This was actually exactly one year later when we had said “I love you” for the first ever time! Max took me out to one of my favorite restaurants, and then we went on a walk along Lake George in Hobart. I was being a bit stubborn about the walk because it was so cold, but once we were under one of the gazebos he proposed. I’m so happy we went on that walk! Haha! I had an idea that the proposal was coming, but didn’t think he would do it on a walk in February!”
Then, was time to find Kimmie’s dream dress!
“My dress buying experience with Something Blue was very well handled. The wedding dress I bought was actually the very first one I tried on at Something Blue! After I tried on every other dress, I kept comparing it to the very first one I tried on. That’s how I knew it was the one! It focused on my curves and made me feel absolutely beautiful.”
What was Kimmie’s favorite part of planning?
“Can I say that my favorite part of the planning process was after the wedding was done? Lol. If I had to choose a favorite part I would say it was the dress shopping or the cake tasting. Both were so much fun!”
What was your least favorite part of planning?
“My least favorite part of the wedding planning was all of the decision making. When I was wedding planning and teaching, I was making so many decisions each day. The teacher brides know exactly what I’m talking about!😉”
What was your favorite part of your wedding?
“My favorite part of our wedding day was definitely the first look with my fiancé. I’m an anxious person and this relieved a lot of the nerves I had and I loved his reaction to what I looked like!”
What is the best piece of advice you can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?
“The best piece of advice I can give to brides-to-be who are currently planning their wedding is to be proactive. Personally, I felt like there were a lot of smaller things that popped up about a month or two before the wedding…so if you have a longer engagement like I did, try and get as much as you can out of the way sooner rather than later!!”
Congratulations, Kimmie & Max!
