Introducing our beautiful bride, Makaela!
For her fall wedding, Makaela wore one of our favorite Chantilly lace ballgowns EVER by Martina Liana!
She added a cathedral length pearl veil and looked incredible!

Before the ceremony, Makaela and her soon-to-be hubby, Tyler, took a private moment together.
They stood back to back {no peeking before the ceremony!} to read their vows to one another!

Makaela and Tyler were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at New Journey Farms in Lafayette, IN!
Their weather was picture perfect!

The reception was held inside New Journey Farms’ stunning reception space!
Talk about gorgeous! But our fave part? Friends decorating the newlyweds’ getaway car!

Let’s get to know the newlyweds!
How did they first meet?
“We met online, on Tinder!”
How did Tyler pop the question?
“I was proposed to at Saint Mary’s college in south bend Indiana. My dad proposed to my step mom there and my sister also got engaged there so it was special to me, and I wanted to do the same!”
Did Makaela have any idea it was coming?
“It’s hard to keep anything a 100% surprise from me, I can usually tell something’s coming. So yes, I did see it coming just wasn’t sure when. On that day I was thinking there’s no way it couldn’t not be that day. I had a feeling. My dad had mentioned previously that it was coming but I just had to wait. I was starting to get impatient.”
When she finally got that ring, it was time to start searching for her dress!
“My dress buying experience was a long one. I went to 4 other shops before finding my dress at Something Blue. The first shop I went to I was there for almost 3 hours. Had a bad experience at another one. But at Something Blue, especially with not having a lot of people with me, it was a great experience.”
How did Makaela know her dress was “the one”?
“I’m a very picky, and visual person. So knowing my dress was the one was kind of difficult at first. But once I put a veil and flowers with my dress I started crying. I hadn’t done that with any other dress and I actually felt like a bride in that dress. Other dresses I was happy but didn’t get choked up at the fact of me walking down the aisle to my husband. That’s when I knew my dress was the one, started crying and could actually visualize the day and walking to my husband and picturing his reaction.”
When it comes to the whole wedding planning process, what were Makaela’s favorite & least favorite parts??
“My favorite part of the planning process was probably dress shopping. Even though it took a long time and in the moment I didn’t like it, now it’s all I think about. Liked trying on all the different styles and seeing which fit me the best.
Least favorite part of the planning process was probably either figuring out all the little details like who’s serving cake and where to put things when or trying to reach out to people who hadn’t responded on RSVPs. It was tedious.”
What is Makaela’s favorite wedding day memory?
“The day of our wedding was so beautiful but my favorite moment was walking down the aisle to my husband, seeing him cry because of seeing me. Knowing I’d be spending the rest of my life with him and how much he cares for and loves me, that this was our moment and our day. Or reading our private vows was a close second.”
Does Makaela have any words of wisdom for brides-to-be who are currently planning their own wedding?
“Best advice I can give to future brides is to really soak it all in and enjoy the day. Prioritize your day and don’t separate from your partner, there will be times where you can be torn apart but stay with them. It’s your day. You want to be able to look back and know you really were with them all day and enjoying/ taking everything in. We didn’t get to take everything in which is something I am sad about a little. The day goes by too fast, I know you’re probably stressed now but it’ll be here and gone in a flash. Don’t sweat the small things, everything will work out and be great. Cheers to you!”
Congratulations, Makaela & Tyler!!
