How did the newlyweds meet?

“Our families have always know each other. We were very young the first time we met, not sure the exact how or when. We used to have holiday parties at my house growing up and we just remember being younger and having a lot of memories there. We started dating in high school and now have been together 10 years.”

How did Andrew pop the question??

“He proposed to me at my old house, the one where we have the oldest memories together. This was even more special because I lost my dad about 10 years ago. So Andrew called the people who live in the house now and he had our families there and told me that we were going to look at a truck to buy from them. So when I got there I was so surprised that everyone was there.”

SO sweet!

After that, it was time for Katie to find her wedding gown!

“The first shop I went to was terrible. Needless to say I left crying. Then I came to SBB, to tell you I was so nervous after having such a terrible experience was an understatement. I could not have asked for a better experience from SBB. I tell everyone to not even bother going anywhere else to get a dress!”

How did Katie know her dress was "the one"?

“I went in dress shopping saying I didn’t know what I wanted, just knew what I didn’t want. I said no strapless dresses. I tried on a dress and thought for sure it was the dress, did the flowers and veil, all the jazz. My mom and mother in law both ended up picked a strapless dress, which ended up being the exact same dress they had in 2 different sizes. I decided that I better try on a strapless just so I wasn’t thinking “what if”. What do you know, I ended up falling in love. Everyone started crying myself included and I just knew that it was the dress for me.”

What was her favorite {and not-so-favorite} part of the planning process?

“Looking at all the venues, we enjoyed getting to see some many different places. It was difficult for us finding a place with a bigger wedding size. It all ended up being perfect.

The bridal shower as well, it was so nice getting together with everyone. You feel so loved and then get to do it again at the wedding. It truly was the best time.

My least favorite part was doing the seating chart, it gave me a headache honestly.”

Looking back, does Katie have a favorite memory from her special day?

“We have a couple one being our first dance together, or when out Maid of Honor and best man gave there speeches. They were both so heartfelt and made us cry. We truly had the best bridal party.”

What is the best piece of advice Katie can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?

“Enjoy every single minute of it. You spend so much time planning and in the blink of an eye it is over. In the end something is going to go wrong on the day of, don’t let it get to you. There are too many good things to let something so little going wrong ruin the day.”

Great advice! Congrats to the newlyweds!!
