Introducing our stunning bride, Ashley!

For her September wedding, Ashley chose the prettiest floral beaded ballgown from Allure Couture!

The details on this gown are SO good, y’all!

For her beautiful, classic flowers, Ashley worked with Lori from La Petite Fleuriste {one of our all time faves}!

This style of bouquet is SO timeless!

Before it was time to get things started, Ashley and her hubby, Dan, shared a sweet first look together!

Ashley and Dan were married in the ceremony room at Allure on the Lake in Chesterton!

How pretty is this venue?!

After the lovebirds made things official, it was to celebrate!

We are SO in love with the reception room at Allure on the Lake!

How did Ashley and Dan first meet?

“We met on bumble (lol)! Started dating 3/21/23. Even though we met on an app, we have realized over the last few years that we have been to similar places, the same concert at porter county fair, and we have a lot of friend/family connections.”

How did Dan pop the question?

“Dan proposed to me at the beach with our 2 dogs on August 22, 2024. We have 2 black labs (I had one prior to knowing Dan and he had one also, so now we have two)! It was our dog’s birthday, and I always take him to the beach on his birthday. I definitely knew that the proposal was coming, but I was thinking that it would happen when we went on vacation two weeks later. Dan said that he wanted the dogs to be with us when he did it!”

After she said yes to Dan, it was time for Ashley to say yes to the dress!

“Finding my dress was one of the best days ever! I’ve been dreaming about this day since I was a little girl. It was so fun to try on all of the different dresses that Something Blue had. The staff was so helpful and so friendly, which made it such a great experience. I brought my best friends, my mom, and my aunt and it was just amazing to have that day with them. Prior to going to Something Blue, I would stalk their Instagram page and loved looking at all of the new dresses that they had to offer. I saw my dress when they posted it in the spring and was hoping that I would love it on myself just as much as I loved it on the mannequin in the picture. I tried on a few different dresses but decided to try on my dress third because I couldn’t get it out of my head and just wanted to see what it would look like on! When I put on my dress, I remember looking in the mirrors in the dressing room and just saying “wow”. When I came out, my family tried to hide their emotions, but I could tell that my mom and my best friend were on the verge of tears, knowing that this was my dress. I felt like a princess. It was everything and more that I ever imagined in a dress. The lights made my dress twinkle. It reminded me of the dress from a Cinderella story, which is my favorite movie. I continue to try on some more dresses after that, but could never get this stress out of my head. I put it on one more time at the end and also learned that the dress came in an ivory color which solidified my answer even more. They put a veil on me and had me hold a bouquet and I knew that this was it. I could not wait to wear the dress while I married my best friend and I didn’t wanna take it off.”

What was her favorite {and not-so-favorite} part of wedding planning??

“My favorite part about the planning process was making the Pinterest board that I have been forming since I was 13 years old finally come alive. I chose using black-and-white as the main colors because it just looked very classic and elegant and was so easy to put together, and used flowers to add the pop and beautiful greenery that was needed. I loved talking to all of the vendors and putting all of my ideas into motion. Picking out my dress was probably in the top three as well. And I also loved doing our engagement photo shoot!

My least favorite part about the wedding planning process is that there are a lot of opinions that form throughout the experience. I am very much a people pleaser and normally just go with the flow and do whatever anyone else wants to do. So having to voice my own opinion and stand strong for what I want done was pretty hard but also very rewarding!”

Does Ashley have a favorite wedding day memory?

“My favorite moment from our wedding was having everyone important to us in the same room at the same time. Some of these people have known us since birth and some have known us for only a few years, but it was so special seeing everyone together there to celebrate and have a good time. I’ve been dreaming about this day since I was a little girl so seeing it in action was just such a surreal experience!”

Does Ashley have any good advice for brides-to-be who are planning their own big day??

“The best advice that I could give future brides to be would be to try to get as much done as you can as early as you can! I had a little over a year to get everything together and let me tell you that was the fastest year of my life!! Wedding planning can also get very expensive so try to buy things as you go so it doesn’t seem like you are spending so much at one time. I was able to get everything together and didn’t have anything to do two weeks leading up to the wedding and it was the best situation because I didn’t have to stress about getting things done. I could just focus on relaxing I am preparing for the big day!”

Congratulations, Ashley + Dan!!
