Is she stunning or what?!

Introducing our beautiful bride, Mallory!

For her fall wedding, Mallory went to our sister store, The One by Something Blue Bridal, where she chose a high neck, fitted, crepe gown by Stella York!

The real star of the show? That center plunge neckline!

Mallory went with silk florals for her wedding, and they were chock full of gorgeous fall colors!

Mallory married her hubby, Roye, inside the Industrial Building on the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, IN!

The set up was seriously beautiful!!

After the newlyweds said “I do”, it was time to party!

We love how the reception reflects their personality, especially with their adorable cake topper!

How did Mallory first meet Roye?

“We were introduced through a mutual friend who thought we'd be a good match! We went on a double date and it didn't go well but I reached back out to see if we could try again and I'm glad I did!”

How did Roye pop the question?

“Roye is in a cover band, and I work as a stagehand/engineer  through a sound company on the side. I was working at a festival that featured several bands, and Roye's band was the headliner for the evening. The band faked an issue with the microphone to get me on stage after one of their songs and then after Roye grabbed the microphone to also "diagnose the issue", he got down on one knee and proposed in front of THOUSANDS of people!”

Did Mallory have any idea it was coming?

“I had NO IDEA! I had suspicions that it would be at a gig but I didn't think it would be THAT gig. I wasn't nervous that it was in front of so many people. If anything, it made me feel incredibly special that he chose that moment!”

After that, it was time to find “THE” dress!

“I already had an idea of what style dress would fit me best. I had several dresses pinned on Pinterest so I wasn't totally oblivious. I went to one other bridal shop prior to "The One" to try the styles I had in mind, but I didn't LOVE anything (mainly because the price was WAY too high). However, I DID figure out exactly what I was looking for. The same day, we went to "The One" and I was very adamant about style and design features and the woman working was awesome. She suggested the one that I ended up buying. I was hesitant about it because of the middle but she told me to trust her and try it on. I actually loved almost every dress I tried there but I LOVED the one she pushed me to try.”

How did Mallory know her dress was "the one"?

“It was comfortable, and it was ME. It was simple, elegant and had everything I was looking for. Comfort was HUGE for me. I also LOVED the button detailing going down the back of the dress.”

What was her favorite part of the wedding planning process?

“I think seeing it all come together and just finally planning it was fun (we were together for 9 years before he proposed). We took into consideration who we were inviting and made sure it would be a good experience for us and our guests.”

What about her least favorite part?

“I am a high school orchestra director and this year I started coaching color guard so my least favorite part was finalizing all the plans while trying to do my job. Both required my attention and sometimes at the same time, so that was stressful. THANKFULLY we had a LOT of it planned ahead of time but the closer it got, the things that were time sensitive were harder to get to while also trying not to neglect my career.”

Looking back, does Mallory have a favorite moment from her big day?

“Honestly, the ceremony. Ours was AWESOME!! We set up the area beautifully, the officiant was amazing, our vows were so cool, we had lapel microphones so everyone could hear us but we didn't have to hold anything, the lighting, the unity ceremony. It was one of the best ceremonies I've seen and I'm not being biased... haha!”

What is the best piece of advice Mallory can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their own wedding?

“The most important thing to remember is it's YOUR day. Definitely consider others but don't get stressed about family because YOU need to enjoy it. Figure out who YOU want to be there because the guest count determines the venue and then you figure out how much you truly want to spend once all that is figured out. After that, the rest is easy.”

Congratulations, Mallory and Roye!!
