Hello, gorgeous!

Introducing our seriously stunning bride, Ashley!

For her springtime vow renewal, Ashley looked amazing in a flowing tulle Martina Liana gown! This stunning A-line gown features a ruching detail on the bodice with a fun slit in the skirt! Plus detachable sleeves? Yes, please!

Ashley worked with Whiting Flower Shop to create her gorgeous bouquet!

We’re loving the springy vibes!

Ashley renewed her vows with her hubby, James, in a beautiful ceremony at Bell Mare Weddings & Events in Galien, Michigan!

“My favorite moment was hearing James give his written vows. I could tell he was so nervous. He had worked so hard writing them even practice them in front of people, he told me afterwards he wasn’t nervous speaking in front of people, he was nervous because he wanted to make sure they were perfect for me. I’ll never forget that.”

After the couple said “we still do”, guests enjoyed a beautiful brunch and lots of yummy desserts!

How did Ashley and James meet?

“James and I met in high school and were very good friends, even attending the same church together. We didn’t start dating until we were both in our last year of college.”

How did James pop the question?

“James proposed to me on Christmas Eve at my parents house. It was a complete surprise!”

After the proposal, it was time for Ashley to find her dream dress!

“I couldn’t wait to start gown shopping. I already knew I’d find the perfect dress at Something Blue since both my sister and mom found their dresses there as well!

All of the ladies at the store made me feel like royalty making sure I felt comfortable and informed about everything when it came to finding the perfect dress.”

How did she know her dress was “the one”?

“I knew my dress was the one when I kept trying on similar dresses to the one I originally loved, it kept calling me back. I almost went with a different one until I panicked last second and called back to change my mind (thanks God) so thankful the ladies knew exactly the one I wanted instead and made the official order!!”

What was her favorite {and least favorite} part of the planning process?

“Planning was a lot of fun. I especially loved planning little interactive things that out guests were able to participate in like our selfie, guestbook, build your own mimosa bar, and even a caricaturist was doing portraits for everyone.

Ugh my least favorite part of the wedding planning was waiting. There’s that sense of calm before the storm and you have no choice but to wait to solidify certain details. Once it’s time BOOM everything starts happening at once and next thing you know it’s wedding day!”

Does Ashley have any advice for brides who are currently planning their own big day?

“My advice to brides would be… we get so worked up, making sure the wedding is perfect for all of our guests that sometimes we forget to make it perfect for ourselves. In that day don’t forget to take time for you and your spouse. Make sure you are both are enjoying each other in that moment because it goes by quicker than you think!”

Congratulations, Ashley + James!!
