Introducing our beautiful bride, Alicia!

After a long wait {thanks to Covid}, Alicia finally got to wear her stunning ballgown by Allure Bridals!

She paired it with a headband and veil by Bel Aire Bridals and looked SO amazing!

How did Alicia and Steve first meet?

“We both met in 2014 at work we are both first responders so we were coworkers and friends for about two/three years before we took things to the next level!”

How did Steve pop the question?

“He proposed on Feb 20, 2019! We were on a private Honduras island while on a cruise excursion and we were going snorkeling. Before we went he kept saying let's look around and take pictures which didn't seem odd because that's normal of him to want to take pictures and explore and we found a spot by a palm tree and we were standing in the water and he grabbed my hands and said how much he loves me and some other things and I started crying and of course said yes!”

Was it a surprise or did Alicia have a feeling it was coming?

“It was a surprise. I knew we would get engaged some day but I didn't know it would be on our cruise. The only people that knew was my dad because he asked him if he can marry me and his parents, and then his best friend and my best friend. So I was completely in the dark and was shocked. It was amazing.”

When she came home from her cruise, it was time for Alicia to find her gorgeous gown!

“Dress shopping at Something Blue was amazing and so much more. Colleen our consultant was amazing. She made my mom and I feel comfortable, never rushed us, she made the whole experience non stressful. She's the best! She made my vision come to life. Also my wedding had to be pushed back three times and something blue was always so understanding and made me not have to worry about not having my dress for the day.”

How did she know her gown was “the one”?

“So the funny thing about my dress is that my mom saw it on the rack and I originally said no to wearing it, and then I was trying on dresses and Colleen said she had one for me to try on, and she grabbed the one my mom suggested. So I tried it on and it was instant smiles and omg this is it. I walked out of the room and my mom was like oh my gosh and she was struggling to get her phone out. Now we did not leave that day with the dress I went shopping at a few other places after and I always kept referring to my dress so I knew it was the one.”

What was Alicia’s favorite {and not-so-favorite} part of wedding planning?

“My favorite part of wedding planning was the quality time I got to spend with my mom. I'm not a creative person and she is so she was my rock through everything and she made my wedding vision come to life. The memories I made with her is what I'll cherish forever, and of course marrying my husband.

My least favorite part was of course pushing it back THREE times cause of COVID, and then the final week with just making sure everything was good, and ready to go and even though nothing is perfect I was stressing that we were forgetting something.”

Looking back, what is her fave memory from the big day?

“My favorite moment of my wedding day was one marrying my husband and then finally seeing all of our amazing family and friends finally together in our beautiful venue and finally celebrating us.”

Now that the wedding is over, does Alicia have any advice for current brides-to-be?

“The best advice I can give to future brides is to just take everything in, and enjoy the process of planning your wedding whether it's small and intimate or big and extravagant. Also something will probably not go perfect on your day and that's ok, like for us our limo service was unfortunately not what we wanted but we laughed about it and enjoyed it and made the best of it because it was out of our control. Also I highly recommend everyone have some type of videography for their day because watching back on our videos I got to see things that I did not see on the day and I feel we can relive our special day over and over and keep the memories even tighter.”

Congratulations, Alicia and Steve!!
