How did the newlyweds meet?

“We met on Upward- a Christian dating app.“

How did Caleb propose to Savannah?

“Caleb proposed to me at Brookfield Zoo during the Zoo Lights! We were under the candy cane lane light tunnel and it was so magical!”

Was Savannah surprised or did she see it coming?

“I knew it was coming. :) It was our six month anniversary.”

How was Savannah’s dress shopping experience?

“My first stop for wedding dress shopping was David's Bridal. It wasn't a good experience and I quickly realized nothing perfectly matched my dream dress there, so I started looking into local shops. Something Blue was very professional, friendly, and organized. I love ball gown wedding dresses and Something Blue had a huge selection of them! I picked out about 7 dresses to try on and the second dress I tried on at Something Blue was the one!”

How did she know it was “the one”?

“The dress was everything I'd ever imagined and more! It's a beautiful ball gown with intricate lace flower design all over. I felt like a princess both at Something Blue and on my wedding day!”

What was Savannah’s favorite part of the planning process?

“My favorite part of the planning process was selecting how to decorate the tables for the reception hall. I really enjoyed choosing the chargers, plates, lanterns, greenery, napkins, and etc. I'm creative and love planning. It was fun getting samples of items, creating a mock table months in advance, and picturing our wedding day. It all turned out so beautifully.”

What was her least favorite part of the planning process?

“The lack of work-life balance was my least favorite part. We planned the wedding in 6 months while I was teaching full time and completing my master's degree. I got about 5 hours of sleep every night and it was so stressful to balance everything. God gave me the strength and it was well worth it!”

What was Savannah’s favorite moment of her wedding?

“It's hard to choose a favorite moment because your wedding day is so special. It truly is the best day of your life! One memory I will forever cherish is dancing with my husband. Our first dance was I Get To Love You and I loved being spun in the air in my wedding dress. It was so magical!”

What is the best piece of advice Savannah can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?

“Put God first in your engagement. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. It's easy to get caught up in all the details and to-do list, but prioritizing your relationship with the Lord then your fiance makes all the difference.”

Congratulations, Savannah & Caleb!
