I know we sound like a broken record but our brides are the best in the world!

Another great example of that is this beautiful, kind gal!

Ugh, So pretty!! Michelle looked so amazing in her Stella York gown and Edward Berger veil, both bought from SBB! Michelle and her girls made sure to look their best before heading to the ceremony. They got ready in a little get together complete with matching robes and mimosas! Michelle's photographer, Stephen Martin Photography was on hand to capture the day.

Michelle and her new hubby Alex were married in a beautiful ceremony at Meyer's Castle! You can see in their faces how happy and excited they were to finally be saying "I do"!

Alex is a firefighter and paramedic, so the couple had to incorporate it with their big day! Love the Tonka truck!

After the ceremony, guests headed into Meyer's castle where they were greeted with simply beautiful decor with some personal touches from the couple - think Harry Potter mixed with firetrucks! Let's not forget a super delish cake!

That venue is so darn pretty!

So how did the happy couple meet?

"Alex and I met at Buddy & Pals on Black Wednesday, the night before Thanksgiving 2010.  We were both at the bar with friends, one of my friends knew one of his friends so our groups merged and he started talking to me and asked for my number and gave me his on a napkin, which I still have.  He texted me almost immediately after leaving the bar and after talking for a few weeks he asked me to be his date for New Years, and we've had a date for New Years ever since!"

After 6 years together, Alex popped the question.

"Alex knows me far too well, he told me he wanted to go ice skating at Millennium Park last January, knowing full well that I would invite some friends to go with us. Sneaky Alex then contacted my friends and told them his plan to propose. After ice skating, which we all did brilliantly, we walked up to The Bean. My friend Olivia distracted me with pictures while Alex got a book out of my friends Judi's bag. Alex proposed using a chapter from one of my favorite books, The Unbreakable Vow, from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (I'm a huge Potterhead). It was adorable and I cried like a baby. I could barely get out the word, yes, and I remember thinking that just shaking my head wasn't a good enough answer. "

What it was time to plan her big day, saying yes to the dress was Michelle's fav!

"I don't know if it counts as part of the planning process, but my favorite thing definitely had to be dress shopping.  I have been dreaming about the day that I got to go wedding dress shopping with my family my whole life, we that was honestly the most important part of all of it for me.  It meant so much to me to be able to experience that with my family.  But it absolutely killed me not to show Alex my dress, I was dying to show him but at the same time, I didn't want him to see it until the wedding.  I also really enjoyed asking my bridesmaids and looking for their dresses!  I loved making the moment I asked them to be apart of the wedding special.  I found the most beautiful dresses that fit each of their style and personality, they looked so beautiful on the day of the wedding that they were the first thing that made me cry."

Michelle's favorite part of her wedding involved a very special family member...

"My favorite moment was definitely during the ceremony, I just remember being so incredibly happy standing beside Alex.  I thought I would cry through the whole thing but I couldn't stop smiling. I felt like I had been waiting for that moment for 6 years, which I had.  We also asked my uncle Clancy to marry us, which was probably one of my favorite parts of our wedding.  I saw photos of him on Facebook years ago officiating a wedding and I said then that he had to officiate our marriage one day.  One of my first calls after getting engaged was to him, I couldn't even get the words out but he knew exactly why I was calling and said yes without me even asking.  I was in my glory during the ceremony, standing up there with Alex, my best friends and my uncle, I felt totally and completely surrounded by love."

Then there's her least favorite part...

"I'm not very good at making decisions, which is all wedding planning is.  I had a hard time deciding on the venue, the photographer, the colors, flowers, cake, center pieces, etc.  And it didn't help that I wanted to get married so fast, I really rushed our timeline.  But our wedding coordinator Eva, was so amazing, she somehow put all of the very vague ideas I gave her and created our dream wedding!  I also really hated all the drama associated with weddings, it's hard enough planning a wedding, dealing with all the drama stressed me out immensely."

Michelle does have one regret from planning her big day...

"It is a lot of stress planning for just a few hours of your life.  I stressed so much, I barely slept, and the wedding was maybe 6 hours long.  It was the happiest day of my life, by far, but I can't help but think all of the stress and tears were so unnecessary!  I shouldn't have put so much pressure on myself and I should have asked for help."

Finally, Michelle has a few pieces of advice for other brides!

"My first piece of advice would be, don't be afraid to shop around.  Because I wanted to get married so quickly I thought I had to choose the first of everything I saw.  Your vendors can truly make or break your wedding, so make sure you do research and choose the right ones.  My second piece of advice is, it is your wedding, a lot of people are going to want to have a say in how you do things, but remember it is your day and not theirs. Take suggestions but ultimately make the decisions with your fiancé, don't let others influence your wedding day.  And third, the day goes by so fast, enjoy it, dance with your husband!  Before you know it, the clock will strike midnight!"

Thank you, thank you, thank you Michelle and Alex for allowing us to share your beautiful wedding day! We wish you both love and happiness in your future together!! Check out more of their special day in the gallery below!
