We are so happy to introduce you to our beautiful bride, Amanda!

For her October wedding, Amanda chose a stunning fitted gown by Allure Bridals. With its gorgeous lace and beaded neckline, it was the perfect mix of glam and classic!

Before heading to the ceremony, the ladies sipped champagne and got their hair and makeup done while the guys did what they do best - drink some beer and play video games!

For her flowers, Amanda worked with Neets Creations to make all of her floral arrangements and decor!

Amanda and her husband Connor wanted to share a first look before walking down the aisle.

ALL men need to have the same reaction Connor does when he sees his bride!

Amanda and Connor were married at The Allure in La Porte.

They wanted to make the ceremony super personal and incorporated their love of beer for the occasion!

They each chose one beer (they just so happened to pick beers from their hometown areas) and combined them during the ceremony!

After the ceremony, everyone moved to the ballroom for the reception!

Guests were treated to fun additions like donuts {yum}, a photo booth and nods to the newlyweds’ dog!

Such a pretty venue!

Ok - time to get to the nitty gritty! How did Amanda and Connor meet?

“I was on my way to a bar for a friend’s birthday party after a terrible Tinder date. I was going to be about an hour early so I texted a friend, Casey, who lived down the street to see if he wanted to go early to get food, when he said he and his roommate were already there getting food themselves. His roommate was Connor! I sat next to him and talked to him about my dog Harley the entire time he was there, all while eating Casey’s nachos. The next morning I texted Casey that Connor was cute and fun, and he gave him my number. Now he’s my husband and that’s awesome!”

That IS awesome! We think the nachos helped ;)

How did Connor propose??

“We were in Ireland on a post-Bar exam vacation. We were driving from the east coast to the west coast to get to the Cliffs of Moher, with our GPS not working. It was an adventure that’s for sure. We were on the back roads of the back roads when we hit a pot hole and ended up getting a flat tire. We tried to change the tire ourselves, but the wrench ended up stripping the lug nuts and it started raining. During this entire time, Connor kept saying “Today is going to be a great day!” - I was not so sure. Thankfully we saw the couple who lived across the street come home and the man actually owned an auto garage! Once we got back on the road and finally arrived at the Cliffs, the main parking lot was closed because it was at capacity and we got sent to a third party lot up the road. Of course. Once we got there, we scoped out a spot to take a picture, and Connor got down on one knee and popped the big question. I cried. Then we went to go buy a new tire for our rental car. It turned out being a great day after all!”

STOP! We love that story - definitely one to remember!! Was she expecting a proposal during the trip?

“I knew something was up because he moved his phone so I couldn’t see when he was texting my mom that we had landed safely, but I didn’t know what and was definitely not expecting it."

After getting engaged, it was time for step two: buying the dress!

“Dress buying was actually relatively painless. We live in Chicago and were planning a wedding in Northwest Indiana. It’s not that far, but coming out for multiple weekends to try on dresses wasn’t going to happen. I had heard so many great things about Something Blue that I decided that was going to be where I got my dress no matter what. Everyone at the store was super helpful and lovely, and even calmed me down when I very loudly yelled “I AM OVERWHELMED” when my appointment initially started. After we knew what I was looking for and I actually liked how that style looked on me, they gave me other options in my price range."

How did she know her dress was "the one"?

“The dress I chose was actually the seventh one I tried on and it just felt like it was the one. I had tried on multiple of the same style leading up to that dress and none of them made me feel quite the way I did in my dress. I would wear it everywhere if I could.”

And she would look darn good doing it! Target trip in your wedding gown? Why not?!

Moving on to wedding planning - what was Amanda’s favorite part of the process?

“Honestly, all of it. I have a rather stressful job at times and wedding planning allowed me to get creative and I actually found it a stress reliever."

Oh come on, there has to be something she didn’t find fun!

“Getting started. There were so many different things being thrown at us like budget, location, venues, etc. It was really exciting but really overwhelming, especially realizing that the wedding I had planned out on Pinterest was definitely not going to happen in the budget that we had.”

Once the big day had arrived, what was Amanda’s favorite moment of her wedding?

“Our ceremony! We asked Casey to marry us, since he’s the reason we met, and tried to incorporate as much of our personalities into the ceremony as possible. We even had a beer unity ceremony! And marrying Connor, obviously.”

Looking back, are there any takeaways from the planning process/wedding day?

“Don’t stress too much. Everything is going to happen the way its suppose to and will work out. It’s such a fun time in your life so be sure to make the best of it. Something will inevitably go wrong, whether big or small (the company we hired for guest transportation just didn’t show up), but as long as you’re married to your best friend at the end of the day that’s all that matters."

What is the best piece of advice Amanda has for brides planning their big day?

“DELEGATE! If someone offers their help, don’t be afraid to take it even for the smallest things. It helps you keep your sanity and takes a little bit of the stress off. Even the day of, create a list of important numbers (mother of the bride, maid of honor, best man, venue, vendors, etc), to give to your wedding party and other important people to call if there is an issue."

Congratulations, Amanda and Connor!! Thank you so much for letting us share your gorgeous wedding!
